Cosplayer Spotlight

MEET BELLE!

1. What's your name?

          Belle

2 Where are you from?

          The Netherlands/France

3. What comic-cons have you been to?

DCC 2017/18/19 Summer and Winter editions

4. How many comic-cons have you been to?

          I believe about five-ish

5. Which comic-cons have you cosplayed at?

          At about 5 DDC's

6. Who is your favorite person to cosplay as?

I must admit I’m pretty new to cosplaying, but I have really enjoyed cosplaying as a Slytherin student from Hogwarts so far!

7. Who have you cosplayed as?

Slytherin student, Toga from Boku No Hero Academia and a soldier from Attack on Titan!

8. Which cosplay that you made was your favorite?

          A Slytherin Student

9. What materials do you use to make your cosplays?

So far I haven’t really made it from scratch, but for the Slytherin student cosplay I went vintage shopping to search for a skirt that had good material. If you order something you’ll never be too sure whether the fabric is actually good and when you thrift shop it, you can just really make sure of that.

10. Can you walk me through making one of your cosplays?

I’m an actor student, but CERTAINLY NOT a fashion design student. I truly can’t sew, so the way I get my cosplays is by thrifting and sometimes I have to order a certain logo (example: a Slytherin badge/pin etc) and then I just stick it with a pin on the outfit! thrift shopping is truly my trick of getting cosplays and a lot of patience when searching for the right materials

11. Do you have any future cosplay plans?

Yes! I plan on cosplaying as Rey or Kylo from Star Wars soon

12. What does cosplay mean to you and why do you cosplay?

The reason I started cosplaying was because a lot of friends did so as well and it truly intrigued me.

13. What is your favorite part or aspect of cosplaying?

In all honesty I’m an actor student and cosplaying is kind of a different way to act. You take a role and you can be whoever you want to be, no need for stressful auditions. At my school everyday is like a cosplay party, but just not everyday with the costumes!

14. Do you have a cosplay inspiration?

I think sammyscosplay is a nice role model who is very interesting and talented in what she does

15. Do you have any advice for aspiring cosplayers?

You do not have to be good at sewing to be a cosplayer!! Also if you like dressing up for Halloween, then why not dress up more often to bigger places like cons?
